| Instructions | 1. Check all containers for leakage or breakage. 2. Remove the frozen cells from the dry ice packaging and immediately transfer them to liquid nitrogen (liquid or vapor phase) for long-term cryopreservation. 3. This cell line is a suspension cell line. Harvest the cell suspension by centrifugation; do not discard the culture medium directly. |

| Background | Jurkat, Clone E6-1 cells are a subclone of the Jurkat-FHCRC cell line, itself a derivative of the Jurkat cell line. The cells were derived from peripheral blood of a 14-year-old male patient and secrete high levels of IL-2 following stimulation with phorbol esters plus either lectins or anti-T3 monoclonal antibodies (both types of inducers are required). |
