  • What concentration of G418 should be used for cell selection?

    Answer

    The sensitivity of cells to G418 varies depending on the cell type, culture medium, and serum supplements. It is recommended to determine the appropriate selection concentration through a dose–response curve experiment.

  • The purchased penicillin-streptomycin solution has some color. Is this normal?

    Answer

    Yes, this is normal and does not affect product performance. While penicillin-streptomycin solutions are usually colorless, they may sometimes appear pink to yellow. This coloration comes from pigments produced during the manufacturing of streptomycin, which is derived from Streptomyces griseus.

  • Are the antibiotic products sold by Pricella® sterile?

    All antibiotic solutions sold by Pricella® are sterilized by filtration. They can be diluted to working concentrations with sterile medium directly, without the need for additional sterilization.

  • What antibiotics can be used to prevent or eliminate mycoplasma contamination?

    Answer

    Mycoplasma are prokaryotic microorganisms that lack a cell wall but contain ribosomes. In principle, antibiotics that target ribosomes can be effective against mycoplasma contamination, such as aminoglycosides like kanamycin and gentamicin. However, we recommend using Pricella® specialized Anti-Mycoplasma Treatment Reagent, 200 × (P-CMR-001) and Removal Media, which can improve the success rate of mycoplasma elimination.
