This cell line is a suspension cell line. Harvest the cell suspension by centrifugation; do not discard the culture medium directly.

Background	THP-1 cells are phagocytic toward latex beads and sensitized erythrocytes and lack surface and cytoplasmic immunoglobulins. THP-1 cells can be induced to undergo monocytic differentiation by phorbol 12-myristate 13-acetate (TPA/PMA).
