Instructions	1. Check all containers for leakage or breakage. 2. Remove the frozen cells from the dry ice packaging and immediately transfer them to liquid nitrogen (liquid or vapor phase) for long-term cryopreservation. 3. This cell line is a suspension cell line. Harvest the cell suspension by centrifugation; do not discard the culture medium directly.

Reference materials

Background	The CA46 cell line was derived from the ascitic fluid of a patient with Burkitt's lymphoma and is one of a series of lymphoma cell lines established by Magrath. CA46 cells are EBV nuclear antigen (EBNA)-negative. They express surface IgM and secrete IgM that does not bind to protein A. 12% of the cells express complement receptors but do not express Fc receptors. The population doubling time of CA46 cells is 16 hours, exhibiting a relatively rapid growth rate.
