Product Introduction

Background

Amino Acids are the basic unit of protein composition and also an important component of life. According to the cell's own ability to synthesize, amino acids can be divided into three categories: essential amino acids, semi-essential amino acids, and non-essential amino acids.
MEM non-essential amino acid solution (NEAA) contain L-alanine, L-glutamic acid, L-asparaginate, L-proline, L-aspartic acid, L-serine and glycine, can effectively improve the ratio of cells culture medium, reduce the side effect of non-essential amino acid production in cell culture, and promote cell proliferation and metabolism, which is one of the commonly used additives in cell culture.

FAQs

  • Q:1 The MEM Non-Essential Amino Acids (NEAA) solution is based on the MEM formulation. Can it only be added to MEM medium, or is it also compatible with other culture media such as DMEM?

    Answer

The MEM NEAA solution can be added to media other than MEM. Since DMEM is a modified version of MEM and contains approximately twice the amino acid concentration—including non-essential amino acids—additional supplementation with NEAA is generally not necessary. However, under specific experimental conditions, such as when cells have a higher demand for amino acids or when culturing certain sensitive cell lines, it may be appropriate to supplement DMEM with MEM-derived NEAA.

  • Q:2 What is the solvent used for MEM Non-Essential Amino Acids Solution (100X)?

    Answer

    The solvent is purified water.

  • Q:3 What is MEM Non-Essential Amino Acids?

    Answer

MEM Non-Essential Amino Acids are used as a growth supplement for cell culture medium, to increase cell growth and viability. MEM Non-Essential Amino Acids contains the same non-essential amino acids found in the standard Minimum Essential Medium (MEM) at a strength of 100X.

  • Q:4 What is the serial number and host for Recombinant Human Insulin Solution (10mg/ml)?

    Answer

The sequence number of this insulin is P01308, it is full-length, and the expression host is yeast.

  • Q:5 If I use Pricella's B-27 (50x) to prepare Neurobasal + 2% B-27(50x), how do I prepare it? Is it 2% based on 50x or 2% based on 1x?

    Answer

2% based on 50×. For example, prepare 100 mL medium means adding 2 mL B-27(50×), the concentration is 2%.
